Happy Hooker

My husband has been trying to teach me to crochet. You may be confused by that sentence, but it is no joke! lol. He and I learned to knit together a few years ago by using Debbie Stoller's first book Stitch N Bitch. He understands how to read and figure out the stuff, me I'm kinda hopeless. So Clint figures it out and teaches me. :) We knitted many a scarf while watching 10 seasons of Stargate SG1.

So I have tried teaching myself with this book, thinking I can knit I can figure out how to crochet....wrong...for some reason I am making it super hard. So last night Clint taught me a few basics and I like to watch videos on youtube to get a visual. Clint says crocheting is way easier and faster!
One of the main reasons I want to crochet is to make granny squares. I don't know if you recall last year at Urban Outfitters they had tons of crocheted home decor: pillows and afghans! Unfortunately they were too expensive for my budget, and I always think, 'I can make that'! (PS the 'I can make that' motto keeps me from buying lots of things!)

I just found this video (and photo cred) on tipdeck.com. I haven't tried watching the video yet, but it looked promising!
I am also watching the videos on favcrafts.com

I found this pattern via Muffins and More. The creator of this awesome pattern is sukigirl, and she has loads of other fun patterns too! This is going to be one of my first not in the book projects. On Sukigirl's blog she said she is a slow tea drinker and this keeps her tea warmer longer. I have that problem too! (Photo cred sukigirl).

This is a cool pattern I would love to try later when I am awesome! Found via crafster.org

I can not wait for this game to come out! I am a huge fan of cooking mama and gardening mama. I bet this game will be super fun! You can buy this game when it comes out and all the others on amazon.com.

Embassy Sweet!

Today I saw a waterfall.
It was indoors.
Koi fish fascinate me.
I want a pond of them in my backyard.
Today I ate some free italian. PS there was cheesecake, but I ate it too fast.
Today was the first district holiday meeting of the year. It was held at the Embassy Suites, which was pretty sweet! This week seems to have gone by so quickly! Tonight I am going to teach myself to crochet again and try to start a beginners project that I saw on Brooke's blog.

Get On Your Wooden Horse

I made this.
Lyrics from a Weepies song.
There is a puppy sleeping on my foot.
My foot is falling asleep.
I bought a big crochet hook today.
There may have been some Fig colored yarn bought too.
I went to Starbucks 2x's today...I'm so bad.
I read a bunch of silly blog stuffs.
Now I know what's the what.
I watched an episode of BBC's Jekyl.
I have to go iron a shirt for tomorrow's meeting.
I have been very apathetic today...um...everyday...lol.
