Fill In The Blank Friday

1. I am a (morning, evening, middle of the day person) late night person. I'm not really good at sleeping, so I can stay up all night. I get super inspired at night too .

2. My favorite Pandora stations are Portishead, Silverchair, Classic Indie....it just gets worse lol .

3. 3 of my "must-have" songs for a road trip playlist are If I am alone I usually end up listening to the Buffy Musical soundtrack, My Favourite Game by the Cardigans (mostly b/c that song revs me up and the video has a bad ass car scene), the one rap song I have which is Airplanes with BoB and Haley from Paramore, and lots of Taylor Swift (b/c I like angry girl music and making arm motions as I'm driving). Usually if I'm with the boys there is lots of Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga. lol don't ask .

4. My favorite pattern is houndstooth and leopard .

5. My favorite perfume is Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Burberry London .

6. Rules are there for a reason, but in some cases just plain silly. I'm a rule breaker .

7. My most overused phrase or punctuation is "Hot mess" .

A Few of My Favourite Things

Yesterday was the best day ever, mostly because I slept for 10 hours straight. I also went to Zumba with my co-worker Jordan. We had fun while almost killing ourselves.

Here are a few of my favourite things this week:

Shorts with tights. This has been my go to outfit...I'll be wearing it today.

Starbucks instant coffee. I think I've saved a million dollars this week just by switching to instant.

I am in love with this show! I just finished season 1. Clint said that the Crashdown (a cafe in the show) really exists. I plan to make him take me soon, since New Mexico is not far from here.

One of my friends, and the fiddle player for my husband's band (Thrift Store Cowboys), recently released her new album Carrying Lighting. I have been listening to it non stop. Hopefully I'll do a review of it soon.

Speaking of the husband, his band is still touring so if you're in the area check out their show, you won't be disappointed!

Who is going to see Harry Potter tonight? I'm working, but I don't like going when it's crazy. I am considering seeing if there is a morning show that is not sold out....

What To Do When You're Dyeing Your Hair

Since I'm waiting on some manic panic to work its magic, I decided to play along with 10 on Tuesday (even though Tuesday is almost over).

1. When you are on a plane and the kid behind you is kicking your seat, what do you do?
I have a very effective stink eye...or so I'm told.


2. What food that you KNOW is bad for you and you shouldn’t have, but you love/eat it anyway?
The loads of sweets I consume instead of meals...you didn't know cupcakes are a major food group?


3. What is your favorite book of all time?
Fountainhead by Ayn Rand...I should read that again.


4. If I came to visit you in your town, where would we eat?
Depends on what kind of food you're in the mood for, but I love Garsky's. It's downtown and in a 2 story house, and they have the yummiest food!


5. You have 500 dollars and 40 minutes to spend it at any store you want. Where do you go?
That's a hard question....Topshop


6. What blog do you read every day/the most often?
I'm trying to narrow down my reader because it was out of control with 1000+ daily, but you can check out some of my favs on the sidebar of my blog. But I think I check out Audrey Kitching's blog the most, I find her very inspiring and its nice to see someone doing their own thing and not worrying about the rest of the world.


7. What’s the longest you’ve ever been stuck at an airport?
I don't recall ever having a delay, but I know I had to wait around for a while at the Las Vegas airport once and we played slots and drank coffee from The Coffee Bean (which is probably not what you're supposed to drink when gambling so pretend I said a dirty martini).


8. What’s your daily makeup/face/cleansing routine?
I have super sensitive skin so I use Ole Henriksen products, but I'm looking to try some Lush products. For make up I love Benefit, but it's kinda pricey so I mix it up with Loreal and covergirl. I like to use things with sunscreen because I'm super pale and burn easily.


9. Where is your farthest away friend?
Japan!


10. Where is your favorite place to go hiking (or to enjoy nature)?
There's not really anywhere to hike out here in the plains of texas, seriously there are hardly trees. Clint and I used to go to the Rose Garden and put around, and sometimes I go running around this fake pond thing (they have tons of them all over the city to catch water in the event it ever rains, which it doesn't).

There Are Better Things To Do

This week has been pretty crazy. I spent most of it working and doing laundry. My husband left for his tour yesterday, so I am kinda lonely, but my friends are doing their best to keep me company. Here are a few photos from my week....

Fill In The Blank Friday: Summer

1. My plans this summer include mostly working, and hopefully going to Brooklyn, Nashville, and NYC .

2. The best summer I ever had was last year when I got married :) .

3. Summer is sno-cones, sprinklers, mornings drinking coffee on the patio, strawberries and watermelon .

4. My favorite summer food is a sno-cone! .

5. The best way to quench a summer thirst is with a glass of sweet tea or lemonade .

6. My summer uniform consists of dresses and skirts. I recently started wearing shorts....but I mostly like to wear a band tee and a maxi skirt or a layered maxi dress, braided hair, big sunnies, gladiator sandals, and sometimes a hat .

7. The best thing about summer is the days are longer, which makes it seem like there is more time for everything, especially the fun stuff .
