Hel-Looks

These are some of my favorite looks from hel-looks.com. I am a sucker for street fashion.

I like how everyone is either wearing something from their mom or grandma, or it's vintage or re-purposed. I also enjoyed reading what inspired each look. Several of the looks I liked, mentioned being inspired by the 90's. I think that's rad.

On My!

This week I have a couple of spectacular things to share:
I purchased this cute Peggy bag from Kara's Clearance sale today!
I can't wait to snatch up one of these cozy hand stitched pullovers from Stuff Kara Made.

The other day I got a message saying my print was featured in a treasury! I was super excited!

I really loved this canvas print from Kellie Rae Roberts.

What are you loving this week? Anything spectacular happen?

A Vain Attempt

Today this week, has been a really long week, and my awesome friend T decided to cheer me up with lots of cupcake goodness!
I found this lovely vintage coat at Savers for $8. This lady in line behind me kept trying to talk me out of buying it because she wanted it. She was kinda weird, and wanted to see everything I was buying.....
I've actually dyed my hair a few times the last few weeks. I went from blue, to bluer. Then I added some pink, which turned purple. Last night I tried to go back blonde, but it just turned into this....
I've got mermaid hair again, but I don't mind.

Taco Tuesday: To Do's and Weekend Pics

Right now I am trying to remember my massive to do list, and not just my day job stuff. Sigh
It's getting to that time of the year where you get to see lots of my to do lists, because putting them on my blog helps me remember. I use like 3 day planners, a dry erase board, and my fancy phone and I still have issues. If you know of someone who wants to be a personal assistant who can live in a cupboard, enjoys homemade cupcakes and ice cream for dinner, can make a mean cup of coffee, and likes french and japanese music....let me know...

To Do:
1. Make diaper shower invites (including the design)
2. Find all my screenprinting supplies.
3. Work on my dolls. (I'm behind schedule!)
4. Start on my next painting.
5. Scan in other paintings.
6. Start on my Christmas list. (this is epic b/c I like to make stuff for everyone)
7. Work on fall embroidery patterns for guest post.
8. Clean up 'the office' (my fabric stash has exploded!)
9. Put away laundry (so I can find something to wear!)

I might as well stop there....

Here are a couple pictures from this weekend's road trip to visit my family.

Me and my niece Avery. She's drinking an iced hot chocolate, that's probably bad for kids...

A few vintage finds: Dooney bag, leather belt that says Charles, and Hawaii Tee.

Are you already thinking about Christmas? I always try and still end up last minute shopping...

Add That To My Cat Lady Collection

Sometimes I get excited and make crazy decisions. While browsing through my google reader, I came upon this post from Fancy Treehouse.
In this post was the cat lady bag of my dreams and I knew I had to snatch it up immediately or have 'that could've been yours' dreams.
I can't wait for this amazing find to arrive and continue my mission to become a cat lady (well un-cat lady, since I have dogs).

A Challenge To Consider

I stumbled upon The Green Gal blog yesterday when someone retweeted the end of her challenge not to buy any new clothing for a year. She accomplished her goal, and looked cute doing it. I asked my husband if he thought I could do it, and he said no. I have a hard time believing I could do it too. I work in a clothing store where I get 50 % off, and an addiction to shopping. So I've decided to challenge myself by tweaking her challenge a bit if I have a major corporate visit (that requires me to wear a new trendy item). I'm hoping this will save me money, and help me beat my crazy shopping addiction. I also love wearing vintage, since it's something no one else has. So here's to day 1.....

Fill In The Blank Friday

1. My most prized possession is my vintage wedding dress. It was an awesome find. I also have another dress that my husband and I call my wedding dress. He bought it for me in Austin a few years ago at a vintage store. I talked him into it by saying I would get married in it. I like to wear it for special occasions .

2. If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be the age I am now. .

3. The best way to spend a weekend is hanging out with friends and the husband eating cupcakes, drinking coffee, and watching movies .

4. My outlook on life is hard to explain lol but I try to go with the flow and not take things too seriously .

5. If you want to annoy me, just be rude to others. For instance, we were in Austin at this neat diner and had to sit outside and share a picnic table with a bunch of rowdy people. They were super rude to the waitress multiple times. I asked the dude that sat us if he could get us a table inside. I just couldn't take it anymore. What was worse is those mean people made fun of us as we got up to leave. I can't stand people like that! .

6. I am completely defenseless when it comes to cupcakes .

7. When dressing for the day one should put on deodorant. I always have to remind my hippie husband. .

On The Edge of Town

I'm waiting on my MIL, so we can go Christmas shopping. Today I am wearing one of the many fabulous Christmas sweaters my mom has gotten for me, and a vintage fur hat, and Clint's 'I Remember Country Music' t-shirt that I got for him at SXSW a few years ago.

I have tons to do today and I don't think I've accomplished much, but taking out the trash and doing the dishes. I need a fabric pen to start on one of my projects and some other stuff. I don't even think I know....

Yesterday we celebrated Eric's bday with dinner and a little laser tag. I got 3rd and Clint got 1st in the free for all. It was super fun! I think I'll take my mom next time she visits.

It's supposed to snow today, I've seen a few flurries. It's pretty cold, but I'm glad it's not icy. Me and the ice are non-mixy...

Did I mention I have a tumblr now? It's pretty fun...check it out here

Etsy Loves Monday

Round 2 for Etsy Loves Monday! This week I looked at lots of illustrators work, especially mixed media artists. I even picked up a book on mixed media this week. Enjoy.

Almost to 200!

So tonight I learned how to make a blog button from the help of Oikology 101. I was super excited! Tell me what you think....

This first pic I took of my shoes with my Hipstamatic App for my iphone. I was headed to my bridal shower lol...

This photo my momma took of me as I was leaving one of my art shows. I love that vintage suitcase, I got it at savers. The dress my husband got me at a vintage store in Austin.

I am also almost to my 200th post! I am thinking about doing a giveaway, but I've never done one...so what would you like to see in a giveaway? I want to do something fun and creative and mostly fun!

PS check over to the right to pick up your very own blog button....

Taco Tuesday: Back on Schedule Edition

I am trying to get back on track with my blogging schedule! So hello Tuesday, Taco Tuesday! This week is going to be pretty hectic for me with working everyday and trying to slip life in between. I just got back from visiting friends and family in SA-ville, it was fun but also very tiring!

I am planning my sisters baby shower which is in 2 weeks so wish me luck!

Now for some cute:

1. I am in love love with this lady's work! Liz Adams has the cutest illustrations. Most of them remind me of me, so maybe that's why I love them! This is my life this week! Knitting!

2. Teen Vogue is rocking my world! I saw this on someone else's blog and the pictures are amazing. I feel like I live in a constant state of grunge, so it's nice to see that I am not that out of style with the rest of the world lol.

3. Michelle Willliams is sooo lovely! I'm (hopefully) getting my hair done at the end of the week, and I love her hair....but do I want to go short again? What do you think?

4. Taylor Momsen has awesome style, and I love her hair too! I've actually had my hair like this before and my BF and mom hated it...lol

5. Aren't these panda shoes adorable? I wish I could afford some, but maybe I can make my own?! They look comfy! You can find them here.

6. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a huge Nirvana fan! I want to buy this soooo bad, so please don't buy it before I can! lol Find Kurt here.

7. The Olsen twins have such amazing style, and well I love a good cardigan! I really want those glasses, I am in desperate need of new ones....sigh...pic from Olsens Anonymous.

8. I love love Sally Jane Vintage! I wish I could just shop shop shop all day from her etsy! I am going to get all my teacher clothes from there! lol

9. Isn't this nursery cute! I hope to do something equally amazing when I have a baby, someday. I am pretty sure I saw this on this blog....

10. So sometimes Twilight makes me mad, and yes I read the books, own the movie, and will go see the new one....but still I don't want to like it lol...but this girl here is cute and I think she rocks! I found a tutorial on how to make these Alice wrist warmers and I really want to figure this out! Wish me luck because I stink at reading patterns lol...

11. Isn't this dress lovely......sigh.....

I hope your Taco Tuesday rocks....
