Slouchy Cats Drink Coffee

Enjoying some Lady Grey tea and some smelly puppies this morning...afternoon...lol. It's been super rainy and I wish I could order those rainboots I saw in the Urban Outfitters catalog....sigh...I need some rainboots, it rains here more than I thought it would.

I've been working on homework, and figuring out this certification stuff so I can apply for a student teaching position or apply for a teaching job. It's lots of work and I'm such a procrastinator.

Clint is out on tour with his band, they were in Denver, CO last night. Not sure where they are headed today? He said he saw Capt. Malcom Reynolds from the movie Serenity last night, or someone who looks like him I guess? We've been watching Firefly on Netflix lol, so maybe he was just having withdrawls?

I painted a little bit last night to make a little house warming present for my friend Calleycakes. She just moved into a house full of boys, but she's excited she's not homeless.

I am still in my pj's, but I have a long day of work, so I'll have to get dressed eventually. I picked up some inspiring pics from weheartit and tumbler today....

I really liked this giveaway b/c you included your fav song lyrics. Mine was a song from The Dissociatives. "When paintings seem like bargains, but they're nothing but wallpaper. I'm plagued by small town fascists like a rash on my skin." It was hard for me to pick one, but that was what was stuck in my head. Do you have any lyrics stuck in your head? I usually have the Ponyo theme song or this song from Fruits Basket stuck in my head...lol...I live in a silly world...

Easy Yummy Veggie Friendly Soup

I love to cook! But I never take pics and I forget to share! So I decided to take a break from studying to share a recipe I make a lot! I get most of my recipes from Food Network.com and tweak them....

This is a vegetarian recipe or it can not be. It's very simple but tastes very yummy, and cooks up in a jiffy!

First pick out your broth. I'd recommend a low or no sodium and I prefer organic. You'll need 2 boxes at least (depends on how hearty or brothy you want your soup.

Other ingredients:

baby spinach

mushrooms

small whole wheat pasta

green beans (or i use peas sometimes)

for a more hearty soup potatoes cut up pretty thin and in bite size pieces

green onions (i forget the real name but they are thin with the pretty green ends)

artichoke hearts cut up pretty small (this is my secret ingredient i use in everything)

salt

pepper

a dash of cayene pepper (if you like a little spice)

What do you do now?

Boil both boxes of broth.

Throw in potatoes if you like potatoes.

Throw in pasta. I use a cup.

Cut up other ingredients while you're waiting.

Toss in everything but leave your spinach for last. Throw in as much as you like at the end and let it wilt.

I didn't give measurements, b/c I don't measure much. Just put in what you like. I like to top mine with fresh grated Parmesan cheese.

That's all there is to making some yummy soup. You think you'll have left overs, I never do!

PS you'll need a big pot!

I am drinking a venti vanilla hazelnut latte from starbucks. it was free! i am now a gold member, which means more free drinks!

Speaking of hazelnut have you tried nutella? I want to.

Clint left for the Four Corners Tour with his band Thrift Store Cowboys. He'll be gone about 2 weeks.

I picked up my wedding dress from the alteration place today! YAY! I have started working on my bunting!

My house smells like puppy...ewww...so I have lots of cleaning to do. I also need someone to mow my front yard so people/children will quit ringing my doorbell to ask to mow my lawn.

Lumos

Things I probably should be doing:

*laundry

*cleaning my room (its bad believe me)

*painting my nails (the pastel is just not cute)

*working on the bunting for my wedding

*making more invites for the wedding

*lots of cleaning...

Instead I am having a BLL (that's Bud Lite Lime) for non-Texas folk. Clint is at this huge sold out show, he texted me and said they kicked ass. I was too lazy to go, I'm kinda sick of dealing with people, and drunk ppl are worse.

Today I got 2 new cell phone charms from the Hello Kitty store to cheer myself up (today was pretty crummy). Retail therapy helps. :)

I just got a text, apparently there is crowd surfing at this show...lol...

Bell Bottoms and Bathrooms

Today I got so much accomplished! I ordered my wedding cake/cupcakes, took my dress to get altered, mailed the invites, got the rings....made dinner lol.

Recently I have been rocking my found bellbottom pants...they rock! I'm ready for the bohemian thing to come back...

These Boots Were Made for Walken

So today is the first day that I have not remembered what I dreamt. I think it's because I had to be at work early and I was dead tired. But I hope I have a dream like this tonight!
