Scrawny Girl

This will be my last post here at Once More With Feeling. You can now find me at scrawnygirl.com
Scrawny Girl will now be my main blog.
I am going back to using my first blog name and unifying all my accounts as I prepare to open my online store. This was a hard decision, but one that me and my husband decided makes sense for the direction I want to take my art/business.
Thank you for your patience and support and I hope you will continue to follow along as I continue blogging and creating.

That's What She Said Sunday

Source: piccsy.com via Mrs. on Pinterest

I have to keep reminding myself of this as it gets closer and closer to Amelia's arrival. There are so many things to worry about, but I keep telling myself things will work out and it is what it is....

Hello Monday. I'm at work on my lunch thinking, its been a while blog. So, I thought I'd share a few snapshots from the past few weeks.

Duo helping me with chores.

Funny things I find on Pinterest to tease my husband with.

A super secret project that I'm working on.

Yesterday I spent the day knitting and watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix. My husband is sad I started watching it without him, who would've thought lol.

Dressing My Baby Bump

Me and Amelia have been rocking some preggo style this week. She seems to get bigger each day, and dressing her is a challenge. Warning: iphone pics ahead, someday I'll get a real camera.

Leggings: Preggers, Sweater: Roxy, Scarf: gift, Socks: Pink VS, Boots: Target
Belly Couture is my BFF, I find the cutest and most affordable things there. This tunic is one of them (so I bought it in 2 colors). I also think I can continue wearing it after Amelia arrives.

Scarf: Hot Topic, Cardigan: thrifted, Dress: Culture Clothing, Tights: DKNY,  Flats: Lucky
If I could, I'd probably wear this dress everyday. This was my 'game day' outfit for work.

Hat: Vans, Blazer: thrifted, Baseball Tee: Pacsun, Maternity Jeans: Belly Couture, Boots: Docs thrifted
It was definitely a hat day, and it was nice to dress more laid back than usual for work.
PS maternity jeans are super comfty, so don't lie to yourself when its time.

Denim shirt: Pacsun, Tunic: Belly Couture, Leggings: StyleMint, Flats: Pacsun
These StyleMint leggings are super comfy and very fun!

Dress: Belly Couture (from my MIL)

This is my fancy, comfy preggo dress. We were leaving the grocery store last night and I made Clint take my picture with the pumpkins haha. I love pumpkins! He said it looked like I was trying to steal one!

Cribs: Amelia's Nursery (so far)

My husband has been hard at work on Amelia's nursery. I just feel like the design consultant.
(bedding from Zutano, purchased at Cup of Tea Baby)

My poor husband went and picked up the heavy wooden crib his mom and I picked out, which he then dropped on his foot, ripped his TOMS, and broke a toe. But the crib was fine....
(The crib is Young America.)

My friend T and my MIL helped pick out some fabric, and my MIL made these amazing curtains. The picture doesn't do them justice, they are super cute!

Even though making the wall art for the nursery is on my to do list, I couldn't pass up this cute canvas that was half off at Hobby Lobby. It matches perfectly!

Duo loves Amelia's room, I am sure he will spend lots of time with her playing and playing. While Loki hides...

I finally got around to framing the sonogram pictures. We haven't put shelves up yet, so they're just hanging out in her crib.

I'll share more as the work progresses!

Hatch

I saw this cute maternity line from Hatch on A Cup of Joe. I wish I could afford even one item, because they look like the comfiest clothes ever! If someone came up with a line that was affordable, I'd be all over it! But their site is great for some baby bump coverage inspiration :)

What's The What Wednesday

Today I've been super lazy with a side of cleaning and research. I have a list of things to work on, but perhaps not getting out of my pj's has left me unmotivated. I started the day out thinking I would take snap shots through out the day, this is as far as I got:

Pumpkin spice coffee with lots of milk and catching up on my blog reader.

My hoodie barely zipped up today. I am also wearing Clint's Harry Potter pj's because most of my pj's don't fit right. I had to bend over a bit to get my pika-shoes in the picture. Baby bump is getting so big I can't see my feet. :)

I little bit of rain on the deck....

Loki looking outside, and being cute.

A few things I've been reading in bed and my list making book.

Duo had a rough morning of chasing squirrels, so he was all tuckered out.

Today I've been researching soap making. I recently bought some handmade soap, and I love the smell and texture. I thought it was going to give me rash, because everything has been lately, but it didn't.  I've also been wanting to make soap for the past few years, I even found a tutorial I had saved on my computer to make cupcake shaped soap. I'll keep you updated on how the progress goes...

Any new hobbies you're thinking of picking up?

Not 16 and Pregnant Adventures

Today I have been super motivated. I would even go so far as to say for the past 3 days I've been super motivated. I blame being pregnant, you know nesting and all that. Finally, after dinner tonight I'm on an epic mission to purge my closet. Not just get rid of a few things, PURGE. I have 3 piles planned out, and a mission on what I'm keeping.

I'm in the process of revamping my style. I'm hoping to come through all this looking just as cool and hip as Katie Holmes or Michelle Williams. You know where I look like a hip young mom, and not 16 and pregnant.

The other day, I had this theory that if I put on lipstick and eye make-up (that's more than just mascara for me), that I would look older and get less nasty looks (for looking 16 and pregnant). I came to realize, yeah that guy opened the door for me and there were less weird looks, but I felt uncomfortable and mostly just smeared eyeliner all over my face because I'm not used to wearing so much make up haha. Lesson learned. But lipstick, yay!

That's What She Said Sunday

My bedroom looks like it could qualify for an episode of hoarders. At least it's clean laundry. I told my husband it was his fault for not helping me clean out my 'stuff' haha. The clock is ticking and I have lots of nesting and cleaning to do.

Today is for working on bachelorette party invites, paintings, and maybe some other arty stuff...plus staying in my pj's. My only wish, is that Starbuck's delivered so I could have a pumpkin spice latte to motivate me!

What is your Sunday for?

PS I also wish Hobby Lobby was open today....I always want to go on Sunday's!

Shop My Closet

One of my friends once told me my closet is like Narnia. And I will admit that I have a slight shopping problem...Anyhoo, I'm in nesting mode and trying to clean out some closets around here. Tonight I listed 10 items (even a couple of my vintage pieces) on Instagram (@shopcupquakescloset). I hope to add more soon.....

PS all funds are going towards Baby Miller's college fund :) Apparently you have to start early with these sorts of things.

Nesting: Baby Miller's Nursey

Now that we know we are having a girl, we have been working on the nursery. Although as soon as I found out we were having a baby, I was pinning nursery ideas. We recently bought a 4 piece crib set at our local baby store, Cup O Tea Baby. It was the last one, and caught my eye. This set had all the fun colors I was looking for. We are now discussing which paint color to use for the walls (i'm going with the minty-turquoise) and saving up for the accessories!

This crib set is made by Zutano, and they have the cutest clothes that match!

I can't wait to actually get started and set everything up! I feel like the countdown has started and we are running out of time....

The Downtown Art/Farmers Market

This morning, one of the local shops that I just started following (Dirty Deeds Soaps) posted on facebook that they would not be at the Downtown Art Market today. Art Market, today?! I don't have work until 2, so I woke up the husband and we headed down to check it out.

There were tents set up out in front of Tornado Gallery on Buddy Holly Avenue, where tons of local farmers were selling their fresh and organic produce. The cantaloupe smelled amazing, and I really wanted to try some of the raw honey and different apple preserves.

There were also local artists booths set up. It was a mixture of jewelry and art. I would like to get to the point of joining them someday. :)

This is my cute husband, squinting into the sun. Behind him is where lots of fun food stuffs were set up to try. I really wanted to try Crusty's pizza, but wasn't super hungry. I did grab an iced caramel latte from Courier Coffee. It was super yummy, and the guys making it were super nice! Next time I plan to buy some whole bean!

Me squinting into the sun with my coffee.

Coffee and a bump.

It was super hot out and we headed back to the car and took some silly photos of our shadows along the way...

We parked near this prairie dog rescue truck.
The dashboard had lots of cute prairie dog figures hanging out.

I can't wait to go to the next downtown art and farmer's market! I can tell this will be one of my favorite things to do.

Do you frequent your local farmer's market? What is your favorite part? I can't wait for pumpkins!
