That's What She Said Sunday

Haha this is totally me, minus the chocolate shake (i prefer strawberry). Today was a long work day with no break, but I did find $5 on the ground and my co-worker turned that $5 into 5 cupcakes from Barnes somehow haha. Because cupcakes are a great meal option for lunch.....

Style File

I have my big district holiday meeting coming up next week, and I can't seem to figure out what to wear. I have no idea what the dress code is, but I'm assuming stuff from my store haha. Since I'm looking for inspiration in all the wrong places, I thought I'd share.

It's probably bad that I'm more worried about what I'm going to wear than the actual meeting. I think I'm going to head over to polyvore and see if I can figure anything out.

Soul Eater

I feel like escaping life and hiding out somewhere inspiring for a while. No stress, no worries...just for a little while....

Damage Control

It's been a Rilo Kiley kinda week. Enjoy.....

Fill In The Blank Friday

I've been a bad blogger this week....

1.   When I was a kid I wanted to be      a covert anti-terrorist operative like la femme nikita or part of Kids Incorporated    when I grew up.

2.   As an adult, my dream job would be   an artist with a private studio where I teach private art lesson, and make and sell handmade wares      .

3.  W hen I was younger I wanted to be just like   Laura Ingalls Wilder    .

4. The childhood Halloween costume that I remember most was when I was    a fairy princess of some sort haha I can see the picture in my head, there's lots of gold and frills. I'm wearing a mask and I have a magic wand   .

5.  My favorite childhood toy was    either my Cabbage Patch Kids or my New Kids on the Block dolls .

6.  The time I got into the biggest amount of trouble when I was a kid was when I     ...I left a movie I was watching with a group of friends and went into another theater b/c I thought my parents were in there and everyone was looking for me. I am still embarrassed about the spanking to this day   .

7.  I get daily inspiration from    bloggers, tumblr, and watching Hoarders (b/c that inspires me to clean haha)  .

That's What She Said Sunday

In my AP English class, I'm pretty sure I am the only person who actually read Walden Pond (and found it enjoyable). I found a copy of Walden Pond in my garage recently, and I've been wanting to re-read it. Maybe that's what Sunday's are for?

Fill In The Blank Friday: Autumn

1.   Nothing says fall like      pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and well just pumpkin everything  .

2.   My favorite autumnal tradition is   going to the Corn Maize. This year it was in the shape of Buddy Holly and we tried fried snickers and had roasted corn      .

3.  My favorite fall treat is   pumpkin chocolate chip muffins    .

4. Fall makes me think of    college     because    In the fall we would sit on the dock at the lake house and play acoustic guitars and smoke cloves   .

5.  Autumn free form word association, go!    pumpkin, knitting, coffee, scarves & boots .

6.  My go-to outfit in the fall is     a cardigan or blazer with a band tee, cut off shorts, tights and boots   .

7.  My favorite fall holiday is (Halloween or Thanksgiving)    Halloween because dressing up and eating candy is fun and with Thanksgiving I don't get to really celebrate because of my job (it's always a stressful time of the year for me)  .

On Repeat: Christie DuPree

Source TheBlueIndian.com
I recently posted about going to watch Eisley (who is one of my fav bands), and opening for Eisley was their younger sibblings, Christie and Collin. They did an awesome acoustic set. For the past few weeks their EP has been on repeat in my car and now I wish I would've bought the second cd they had for sale.

You can watch some videos of some songs not on the EP over at The Blue Indian's Acoustic Alley. I'm really digging Blessed Soul.

You can listen to the EP that I've been listening to everyday at christiedupreemusic.com . It's very relaxing and whimsical, in an Eisley meets She & Him kinda way. I love every song on the EP, but perhaps Apologies is my favorite.

At the show I snagged a band tee (which everyone knows I'm addicted to), and wore it to work this week. I had several people ask where I bought it, but no one commented on the wrinkles (thankfully).
Hat: volcom, Earrings: Pacsun, Blazer: Billabong, Shorts: Bullhead, Tights: DKNY, Shoes: Lucky
You can also check out Christie on Twitter and Facebook.

That's What She Said Sunday

Fall always makes me want to have a Harry Potter marathon.
I'll be working hard for the money today, but first I am going to enjoy more coffee and cupcakes! Ciao!

A Vain Attempt

Today this week, has been a really long week, and my awesome friend T decided to cheer me up with lots of cupcake goodness!
I found this lovely vintage coat at Savers for $8. This lady in line behind me kept trying to talk me out of buying it because she wanted it. She was kinda weird, and wanted to see everything I was buying.....
I've actually dyed my hair a few times the last few weeks. I went from blue, to bluer. Then I added some pink, which turned purple. Last night I tried to go back blonde, but it just turned into this....
I've got mermaid hair again, but I don't mind.

Fill In The Blank Friday

1. The most selfless thing I've ever done was... so far, I think it was switching high schools, so my mom didn't have to drive me over an hour to school and my sister didn't have to go to high school without me. I gave up my friends and being varsity head cheerleader, but I think it was better for everyone .

2. When it comes to working out I work out like once a month if that. I really haven't worked out since I graduated high school, which was over 10 years ago...it's on my list of things to get better at...or I mean actually do .

3. A woman should always wear lipstick(or a pretty lipgloss) .

4. I wish I could hire a maid .

5. A best friend is someone who knows when you need a cupcake or two .

6. I can't get enough of the Korean dramedy 'Lie to Me'. I only have one more episode left! .

7. This weekend I am working hard for the money and missing a Taylor Swift concert. Yeah, a little part of me just died inside almost like that time I missed that Paramore concert. I am still recovering from that by buying every Paramore shirt on the planet. .

My Life As A Teacup

Today I did a little guest post over at My Life As a Teacup. There you can find a little Halloween DIY with the embroidery patterns I made.

Also on the agenda today was hair cuts. My husband needed a hair cut so bad...he had some kind of wolf boy hair (and not in the Teen Wolf kinda way). I just needed a bang trim, since my attempt at straight lines failed...

Now it's back to watching my Korean dramedy (that's comedy/drama...netflix told me).

Taco Tuesday: Artist Spotlight Charlavail

I've been following this creative gal for a while now. She reminds me a lot of myself, and is a huge inspiration. It's nice seeing young artists following their dreams and trying to make a difference.
She recently made some skeleton iron on's to raise profits for the National MS Society, because her friend was diagnosed with the disease. Please check out her tumblr and website.

She also designed a few shirts for Paramore, which I just ordered....I couldn't help myself....

She is such a talented young lady! I can't wait to see what the future holds for her!

That's What She Said Sunday

Today is my day off, and I haven't quite figured out the best way to waste it.

Here are some ideas:
1. be on Tumblr all day (i always get sucked in)
2. watch the Korean drama I started last night when I couldn't sleep. It's called Lie To Me and was pretty funny.
3. go to thrift stores. (this would require getting dressed)
4. read blogs
5. put away the laundry (i really should do this)
6. work on some dolls (i really planned on doing this, but it requires cleaning off my desk)
7. watch youtube videos
8. polyvore
9. play my DS, i still have kingdom hearts to beat
10. bake some cupcakes filled with nutella
11. clean out my closet (this equals a huge ass mess)
12. dye my hair (also equally a mess)

So far I've folded 5 cup towels, so I feel like I sorta started putting away laundry.

What are you doing today?

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Something popular that I can't stand/just don't "get" is      Lady Gaga .

2.   Something unpopular that I secretly love is    Savage Garden     .

3.  When I've had a bad day I   head straight to Starbucks to get a latte and a cupcake. Next up is retail therapy!   .

4. I'd prefer    strawberry    to    chocolate      any day.

5.  Something that makes me nervous is     needles, driving, and big dogs .

6.  Something worth fighting for is     cupcakes or tacos. I threaten people's lives daily when these 2 things are involved. Or when someone eats all my teddy grahams. (yes my life revolves around food)   .

7.  When people think of me, I hope they don't think    "she looks just like Kirsten Dunst, Olsen twin, Mandy Moore (take your pick, it's annoying)."  .

Whimsical Needles

My entire life I've told everyone that I am going to get this tattoo or that. My mom was the first to hear about my tattoo dreams, just to be the rebel child that I was. I told her I was going to get a dolphin jumping over my belly button so when I became pregnant it would look like a whale. Of course I never did that, I still have zero tattoos to this day. I am petrified of needles! I pretty much hyperventilated when getting my ears re-pierced as a child of 9-ish. When getting my belly button pierced in college, I was pretty sure I was going to pass out (then it didn't even hurt). I hate getting my blood taken, and I know there is blood involved in tattooing. So probably for the rest of my life I will be contemplating getting a tattoo..

.So here goes...

I love love Sherri's (from Eisley) artwork. These are a bunch of her sketches, that I would love to have tattooed on as a sleeve. I think I would like to start with the cupcake. It would be the cutest tattooed sleeve ever! Getting a tattoo is on my list of things I want to do this year....let the countdown begin!

Any advice for a scared-y cat wanting a tattoo?
