Birthdays & Bathrooms

It's my birthday! I'm not sure what all we are going to do to celebrate? There are talks of Japanese food and going to watch Black Swan. I'd also like to go to starbucks and thrift store shopping (just b/c I never get to go!). One year my momma got me a Power Rangers birthday cake. This is a pic of my friend Teresa in her pink ranger costume...she came out of my bathroom and scared me!
Well I still have to sleep before any festivities begin.
What are you doing for New Years Eve?
Me? I hope to go roller skating.

Taco Tuesday: I'm Over It

I had a great day off today.
Clint and I did some grocery shopping and had some tacos.
We tried to dye my hair lighter, but it didn't really take.
I made some pineapple upside down cupcakes. I think they turned out alright...we'll see at dinner in a bit.
I'm in a rush, we are about to head over to a friends for dinner and to do our christmas.
Hope you had a outrageous Tuesday!

Through The Cracks In The Sky

You know when one thing goes wrong, it seems like a million other things follow that trend. That's the pattern my life seems to be following at the moment. So I'm trying to be optimistic, which is hard....I'm kinda sad today because someone told me something mean that was said about me, and I don't think they realized how mean it was. I'm one of those people who doesn't care what people think of me, and usually just let it go...this was just super hurtful and unexpected....so I'm listening to my angry music and I'm planning a crazy outfit for the day, that usually makes me feel better. I might need a cupcake...

Some days I feel like I am going nuts, so this shirt would be appropriate.

Some days I feel like I am running out of time to get things done, and my clock is counting down....

Usually when I am feeling down and out, I do unexpected things with my hair or go shopping.
I can't wait for my hair to be blonde again so I can make it pink! I love this painting by The Black Apple.

What do you do when you are feeling down?

That's What She Said Sunday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I'm not looking forward to working at the mall today, but maybe people won't be as bad as I expect. I still have Christmas to do with my mom and lil sister this coming week (which will be on my birthday!).

PS Have you started thinking about your New Year's Resolutions yet?
My top resolution: trust your gut/instincts.

Doll Parts

Look what I've been up to.
Yes it is 3 am.
Yes I just finished making dolls with funny shaped heads.
I think the little girls will love them all the same.
Time for sleep, so I can wake up and create more gifts.

time out for breakfast

Since I've been going, going, going... I've been eating terribly! My diet has consisted of coffee, red bull, cookies made by my co-worker, and mini pizzas. This morning, after coffee, I was starving and decided to make scrambled eggs with potatoes. Here is my recipe if you want to give it a try, it's good day or night!

I cut up my potatoes pretty thin.
Throw in a skillet with onion, garlic, spices, and some butter! (i love to add a dash of cayenne and lemon juice)
I cook them up until they are starting to burn. (makes some crunchy bits)

While I'm waiting on my taters to cook up, I mix up my eggs with some milk and spice it up!
When the taters are done, put them on a plate and using the same skillet cook your eggs just how you like them!

I like to mix my eggs and potatoes together and add cheese on top!
yummy! I am super full right now!

how do you take your eggs?

Busy Bee

I've been super busy between Christmas shopping with the family, wrapping gifts, working like a mad woman, trying to find time to sleep, and complete some handmade gifts. So please excuse my absence and have a Happy Holiday!

Fill In The Blank Friday

1. Giving is awesome! .

2. Receiving is nice .

3. The best gift I ever received was my kitchen aid stand mixer. I love baking for everyone around the holidays, so it has come in handy .

4. The best gift I ever gave was a scrapbook I made for my friend/co-worker Kellie for her b-day. She cried and I cried. You can see the pages here .

5. Something intangible that I wish I could receive is the ability to understand quantum physics, so I can understand what the heck they are talking about on Stargate.

6. Something intangible that I wish I could give is patience .

7. The one gift I always wanted as a child, but never got was ...I can't think of anything off the top of my head, so I must have been awesome for Santa to bring me what I always wanted ;) .

On The Edge of Town

I'm waiting on my MIL, so we can go Christmas shopping. Today I am wearing one of the many fabulous Christmas sweaters my mom has gotten for me, and a vintage fur hat, and Clint's 'I Remember Country Music' t-shirt that I got for him at SXSW a few years ago.

I have tons to do today and I don't think I've accomplished much, but taking out the trash and doing the dishes. I need a fabric pen to start on one of my projects and some other stuff. I don't even think I know....

Yesterday we celebrated Eric's bday with dinner and a little laser tag. I got 3rd and Clint got 1st in the free for all. It was super fun! I think I'll take my mom next time she visits.

It's supposed to snow today, I've seen a few flurries. It's pretty cold, but I'm glad it's not icy. Me and the ice are non-mixy...

Did I mention I have a tumblr now? It's pretty fun...check it out here

Things I Didn't Do

Things I haven't got done today:

1. Make cupcakes for a party after work!
2. Mail out my Christmas cards!
3. Start on making my X-mas dolls
4. Make my mom and Clint's mom's presents!
5. Wrap some stuff.
6. Finish decorating the tree.
7. Laundry

I do have to go to work in a few minutes. I'm hoping I'll have time after work to make the pineapple upside down cupcakes. Not sure what time the party is, but there will be laser tag.

World War Wonderful

A few songs that have been sticking with me lately....

Taco Tuesday: A Little Nonsense & Love

Here are some things that I am loving today!

Juliette Lewis with blue hair! I can't wait until I can afford to do something with my hair!

Tokyolux products. I just want everything!

Inspiring words.

I need to get some of these letters and put nice sayings all over my house!

After seeing this I want to paint my own set of dishes with Totoro all over them!

Embarrassing story time: Yesterday some old ladies came in to buy a coat and wanted me to half the amount so they can pay separately. I suck at math and I get flustered under pressure with no calculator. I was off by a bit, and they made fun of me some and talked about how dumb today's youth was, and how they used to be math teachers. Yesterday was like that all day, but my husband made me feel better with popcorn and wine. :)

I understand McD's has these now. I hate McD's. Did you watch Super Size Me? You should, you'll never want to eat there again. My friend Calleycakes said she'd get me a Hello Kitty one! I may buy a Happy Meal just to get one and give it to a homeless person, there's usually one over by TJ Maxx.

This tree is sooo cute! I may do something like this next year!

I still want a Tamagotchi for Christmas or my bday! It would look cute on my Tokyolux Tramp Lady bag. (hint hint)!

PS Here is my most played playlist, it gets me pumped to do things like housework. I'm a huge fan of Abingdon Boys School. You can't get their cd on itunes, but you can order it on Amazon and it takes like 3 years to get here lol...that's on my wish list too...but for now...PS the first song is my fav...I'll post the video soon...

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

Puppiness In Love!

I love my puppies! I take their picture almost as much as I take pictures of food...actually probably more...so enjoy some cute puppiness!
Loki Doki's chicken leg pose.

Duo cuddling with Hello Kitty.

I dumped their toys on the floor and they were in heaven. It was too cute!
Me and the pups are getting sleepy, so it's time to cuddle in bed! xo

Tramp, Lady, Tramp, Lady

it's almost my birthday

Products I Love: Face Care & Body

I love going to places like Sephora and Ulta, I know I can always find what I'm looking for and they have amazing products! I've been using the Ole Henriksen Natural Skin Care line for a while now, and I love it! Everything smells so delicious and works like a charm! Here are my go to products, but I still have tons to try.
I love these 'truth to go' wipes. They are prefect for traveling or it's 3 am I just got home from a show and I'm too tired to change out of my clothes let alone wash my face days. They smell like heaven (citrus and vanilla). Sadly I ran out and need some more!

This is the facial cleanser I use. I also sometimes use a Dove face bar.

This tonic rocks my socks!

I can't live without this moisturizer! It smells like dreamsicle! It is the best moisturizer I've tried to date and one little pot lasts forever!

Clint recently let me in on a big secret....he hates the bath and body works stuff...lol...so I searched around the house for some other soap, and found this Burt's Bee's bar that my mom had given me. I love it! It lightly smells of peppermint and has exfoliators (which clint loves)...I may never go back to BBW products again...

I think I am well on my way to using all natural/organic products! Do you use organic/all natural?
What are your go to products?

Christmas to do

Today I have been wrapping gifts. I am glad I got some of my Christmas shopping done early. :)
I have 3 little bitty nieces, and I'm not good at shopping for kids that little, so I am going to make them Black Apple Dolls based on the tutorial from Martha Stewart.

I am trying to make as many gifts as I can since this year we are low on funds. But I think handmade gifts are more meaningful.

I still need to make/find gifts for:
my mom
finish clint's mom's (i mean start)
clint's dad
clint's grand-dad
several friends
white elephant gift?

hmmm...i'm sure I am forgetting someone...but I already had a lot done! I need to get Clint something little, I have an idea...we'll have to wait and see.

How is your Christmas shopping/making going?

I still haven't finished my Christmas card....they may not make it out this year.

Fill In The Blank Friday: Cat Lady Style

1. I wish I could land my dream job or win the lottery .

2. Yesterday I went to work for 3 hours, then to see my husband's band play .

3. Today I will do some Christmasy stuff.

4. Tomorrow I will work all day, come home and drink wine and see if Elf is on tv.

5. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll find a full time job and get the laundry done.

6. Someday I will actually shop/get all my presents made before Christmas rolls around .

7. I love my puppies, my husband, coffee, sugar, and Hello Kitty.

I need to get my knit on! Have a good evening/weekend!

Looking cute and comfy, drinking coffee, eating ice cream and cupcakes, buying cute things. I could use some Hello Kitty band-aids right now.

Taco Tuesday: Sub Your Heart Out!

Yesterday was my first official subbing job, and I got to be an art teacher!
Things they should tell subs:
1. What disciplinary actions are taken? (For those kids that have to be threatened lol)
2. How do you make them be quiet? (I learned you do this clappy thing and they clap back.)
3. How they usually line up at the door.
Those 3 things would've made my day run so much smoother yesterday.
I went home with sore feet, blisters on my fingers from sharpening pencils all day, and starving (since my sandwich was moldy).

This morning I woke up with a phone call that my one day job was actually 2 days! Yikes! So I got ready in record time, grabbed a latte (which I finished before I got there...long drive!), and subbed my little heart out. Today I had a boy cry, had to send 2 kids to the nurse, had a girl literally hang all over me, and had to deal with a bully who liked putting his peers names into the song "jingle bells, ( ) smells", all in all it went alright...i think. Tomorrow I sub at a different school in a 1st grade class or 2 different 1st grade classes. I'm hoping being with the same kids all day will be better than 6 or 7 different classes.
I'm pretty tired...I worked at my part time job after I subbed yesterday, and thought I'd have today off. I'm still working on Christmas-y stuff like presents and my holiday card. The holiday episode of Warehouse 13 comes on tonight, I'm excited about that!

Anything your excited about?
