Open for Business

I finally got to make a few prints and list them in my etsy store! There is only one item, but you have to start somewhere right? More to come soon! I have some doll ideas in the works, more prints, tees and totes!

Do you have an etsy store? Link it up, I'd love to check it out!

That's What She Said Sunday

Today is my first day off in a long time, and I couldn't be more excited! I spent the morning reading Kyla Roma's blog and catching up on New Girl episodes.

Next up on the agenda
  a shower
a trip to an office store and possibly a craft store
  grocery shopping
cleaning my bedroom
continuing my Christmas decorating while listening to Christmas music

Speaking of Christmas music, I downloaded A Very She & Him Christmas last night....now I just need to find it on vinyl.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Waking up at the break of dawn to go shopping is my idea of     a nightmare. If I didn't work retail, I would be asleep. I don't understand the madness of it all. People, the deals aren't that good. Stay home and shop online!  .

2.   If I were to go shopping today I would be on the hunt for   a bunch of handmade gifts on Etsy.      .

3.  The best thing I ate yesterday was    corn dip    .

4. Something I've been learning lately is    that it's ok to go home. I've been working way too many hours, and sometimes things will get done, when they get done...   .

5.  I cannot start my day without     gallons of coffee  .

6.  My nighttime attire consists of    a tank top or t-shirt and thermal pj bottoms .

7.  I am looking forward to     a day off soon  .

Funny Face

I was asked to act when I couldn't act. I was asked to sing 'Funny Face' when I couldn't sing, and dance with Fred Astaire when I couldn't dance - and do all kinds of things I wasn't prepared for. Then I tried like mad to cope with it.
Audrey Hepburn

The next few days will be super long for me, I am not even sure when I'll be able to sleep. Good thing someone invented coffee. Today my outfit is Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face inspired.

Have a good Thanksgiving!

That's What She Said Sunday

I've been a bit bummed, and not even cupcakes are helping.
What do you do when you are bummed?
Right now, I have the urge to clean out my closet and tidy up my bedroom.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   A nervous habit I have is     acting blonde, it's kinda my defense mechanism  .

2.   Something that makes me sad is    animal cruelty      .

3.  Today I am thankful for    my patient husband (since I'm never home and always at work), my snuggle-y puppies, and Starbucks    .

4. My favorite room in my house is     our office, because I can relax in the recliner or craft or talk to my husband since that's where his computer is (he's always WoWing)   .

5.  I can't stand    Lubbock drivers and inconsiderate people. You know that saying about not having anything nice to say....I think the people of Lubbock have never heard of it .

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would    go buy Clint a gift card to H & M, so he can get some cute stuff .

7.  The last person I hung out with was    my husband, when we watched Glee and ate Whataburger when I got off work last night.   .

Baby It's Cold Outside

I saw this over at Lariats and Lavender and thought I would play along.
These are not my puppies. Mine have super crazy hair and wouldn't sit still long enough for a picture like this.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrap

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? A little bit of both. We got some cool vintage-y white bulbs for the outside this year.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
nope

5. When do you put your decorations up? whenever i can make time. working in retail, this is a busy time of the year. but I would love to do it around thanksgiving.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? I'm not even sure what it would be? probably cookies. does a peppermint mocha from Starbucks count?

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? We would always beg my mom to let us open one on Christmas Eve, she always said no, but let us anyway. :) My sister and I would also try finding where mom hid the presents....

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't remember. I'm just gonna say that Santa is real, and keep it at that.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We usually open 1.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? It changes every year, but we do buy a special ornament every year.

 11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I think it's cool, until I have to drive in it. We don't get much in Texas, and people kinda freak out and drive all crazy.

12. Can you ice skate? I've only done it once, but every year that's what I want to do for my birthday. Every year we don't get to because it's closed. :(

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Haha. I like all my gifts. Clint always gets me cute things I never expect, but that I use forever like a Hello Kitty Toaster or my Kitchen Aide mixer, and that one year he got me that equestrian riding helmet haha.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Surviving retail, and getting to spend some time with my family. I usually do Christmas towards the end of the month with my family because of my job.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? I make these yummy thumbprint cookies with jam in them.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Clint and I buy special ornaments, and I make cookies. We like to decorate together too.

17. What tops your tree? A star.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I like giving. I prefer to make presents, but I always seem to run out of time. I also like wrapping them.

19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Yummy and cute! I have a million left over from like 3 years ago. haha

20. Favorite Christmas show? I like the classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Frosty the Snowman....the old ones.

21. Saddest Christmas Song? ? dunno? but I can't wait to get the She & Him Christmas album on vinyl.

22. What is your favorite Christmas song? The one Zoey sings in Elf (ps i watch that movie every year too!), "Baby It's Cold Outside."
Yay for Christmas! I'm talking with the husband right now about what to get him for Christmas.

Harajuku Graffiti

This is my latest painting. I was trying lots of new techniques, so I'm not quite sure what I think about it. I had fun working on the background. It's crazy how many times I thought I 'messed up' on trying new things, but ended up liking the result more than the one I was aiming for.

I was inspired by:
graffiti
 harajuku girls
powerpuff girl ice cream
 Sailor Moon

Tomorrow (if I leave my house), I am planning to get some good quality printer paper and ink to make some prints to put in my etsy store. I had another painting, but the canvas is too wonky to scan in. I can't wait to start on my next painting that is inspired by Princess Mononoke.

I think I've used the work inspired a million times today.

Taco Tuesday: Learning

Source
Today I slept in, made coffee, ate a waffle, and tried to catch up on reading blogs. I clicked over to A Beautiful Mess to read about Red Velvet's 1 year Anniversary, and learned something important. I've been struggling with my job and promotion, and mostly just killing/making myself miserable. But this little snippet kinda put things into perspective for me. So it goes to show that no matter if you work for yourself or a corporation, everyone in the business world is dealing with the same things. I can only hope that things will get better from here.

Halloween Party!

I was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. And yes that is a little kids costume.
This year come hell or high water, I was going to have a Halloween Party and hand out candy to trick or treaters. So I invited a few friends over to dress up, BBQ, and watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown(twice). There were plans to watch Ghostbusters, but it got too late. I ran out candy pretty fast, I was surprised there were so many kids in my neighborhood.

Mr. Pink and Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction.

Hipster Hitler killing his pumpkin.

I'm grabbing some pumpkin guts.

Sean of the Dead and GF

Lit Jack o Lanterns

My friend T did a post on her blog about all the fun we had, take a look here.

I know Halloween has been over for a while now, but I've been super busy with work. What did you do for Halloween?
