Mori Girl

I recently ran across lots of pictures on Tumblr about Mori girls. I also found out more about Mori Girls and their community in Japan:

The definition of a “mori girl” is a young woman who seems to be in a forest. “Mori” means forest in Japanese. Mori girls are all members of a community on Mixi. Mixi is an Internet social networking service in Japan, which has been operating since 2004. Only people who receive an invitation from another Mixi user can join, and only Japanese can be used on Mixi.
Applicants have to answer some questions to be approved. The questions are very simple, and they are relate to mori girls, in general, and also the rules of the community.
There are more than 60 different categories of mori girl in the community. For example, some like loose one-piece dresses, and others wear many layers of clothing.
The “mori girl” trend is hard to explain, as it is resembles other fashion styles. However, the image of mori girls can be seen in other ways. They have the same tastes in many things, and usually go to used-clothing and antique stores in Shimokitazawa, Koenji and Dikanyama. In addition, they are interested in cafe tours, reading, handicrafts and taking photographs. You can get an image of a mori girl not only from their appearance, but also from their interests.
Mori girls have had a major impact on Japanese women, and have been featured in lots of women’s magazines, and on TV. As a result, mori girls have become trendy, and their fashions have become very popular. (source)

Mori Girl's seem kinda bohemian to me, but taken to the next level, more one with nature.
This week I felt like one of my outfits was very 'mori girl'. I should've worn a scarf :)

What do you think of the mori girl trend? Do you have any mori girl outfits to share?

I really like this style. I identify myself with it, but don't run around calling myself a Mori girl. It's nice to see that others feel the same way about vintage clothing, the forest & the quiet life. though! Your outfit looks very Mori girlish! cute!
